With things changing on what seems like a daily basis, it is difficult to make plans to celebrate the upcoming 4th of July holiday. So, we compiled a list of events happening around Northern Colorado. We would LOVE to see how you decide to celebrate! Fort Collins & Loveland
Hot Air Balloon Launch
Launch begins around 6 a.m.
Grab your breakfast and head outside to catch a glimpse of hot air balloons floating above Fort Collins. With various launch points throughout the city, everyone is sure to see some of the patriotic fun. Balloons are scheduled to take flight around 6 a.m. and stay airborne for several hours. Launch and flight time dependent on wind conditions. Note: This is not a City of Fort Collins managed activity.
Airplane Parade
July 4th, 2020 – 10 a.m.
Cheer on more than 20 local pilots as they salute our first responders with an airplane parade flying over Fort Collins and Loveland. Several of the planes will be carrying COVID-19 front-line responders including nurses, doctors, respiratory therapists, and assisted living facility workers.
Route Details: Planes will be taking off from Northern Colorado Regional Airport, heading up towards Lemay Avenue, turning west near Vine Drive, and then heading south over Taft Hill Road, then to Lake Loveland, and over Boyd Lake.
Stars and Trucks Driving Parade
July 4th, 2020 @ 10 a.m.
Tip your hats to many of the important services that keep our community running with a driving Stars and Trucks Parade! Bring a blanket or chair and see vehicles big and small including police cars, ambulances and more.
Please maintain physical distancing and wear a face covering to protect those around you when viewing the parade.
Route Details: The parade begins at 10 a.m. from the Fort Collins High School parking lot and will be heading east, then north around Fort Collins. Click Here for Full Route Map
Celebrate #FoCoTogether with Neighbors
July 4th, 2020 – All day!
Spend the afternoon sharing in neighborhood celebrations and physically-distanced activities including:
- Chalk Across FoCo Contest, sponsored by Neighborhood Services
- Share a front yard cookout. Note: Please follow the CDC recommendations regarding food safety and maintain physical distancing.
- Decorate your front porch
- Share your favorite tunes for a driveway dance party
- Take a tour with Art and Public Places and see the art on the Fossil Creek Trail, Poudre Trail, and Spring Creek Trail as well as Northeast Fort Collins. Or even take a walking tour of Downtown!
Pop-Up Micro-Concerts
July 4th, 2020 1 – 3 p.m.
Presented in conjunction with Bohemian Nights, local bands will travel to surprise destinations throughout the city for instantaneous live micro-concerts! **In an effort to minimize crowds, musical destinations will not be shared in advance.
Musical Tribute from The Lincoln Center
Presented in conjunction with Bohemian Nights, tune in to a video stream from The Lincoln Center (@FoCoLincolnCtr) to hear local bands, capped off with a performance from the Fort Collins Symphony playing a rousing patriotic set.

Drive-In Fireworks Show
July 4th, 2020 – Gates open at 7:30 p.m.
This first-time-ever, unique event is the result of a partnership between the cities of Loveland, Fort Collins, Larimer County, the Larimer County Sheriff’s Office and the Larimer County Ranch Events Complex. To comply with state and county public health orders, this will be a DRIVE-IN STYLE event. Limited parking spaces are available. Visit City of Loveland’s website full details.
This is a Free event *No food or other vendors on-site *Restroom facilities will be provided *Viewers must remain either in or adjacent to their vehicles (except to use toilet facilities) *Show begins at approximately 9:15 p.m. *Show concludes at about 9:35 p.m.
Patriotic music provided by 96.1 KISSFM beginning at 8:30 p.m. will accompany the show and provide full ‘drive-in’ experience. Information on this event will also be posted on the City’s social media sites and on the July 4 Facebook Event page.
Berthoud Fireworks Celebration
July 3rd, 2020 – starts at dusk (about 9:15 p.m.) —
Fireworks show to celebrate all that we have been through. For the show this year, fireworks will be launched higher into the sky so they can be seen from a greater distance. Grab your lawn chair as they light up the night with the best show on the Front Range. Fireworks staging will take place at Waggener Farm. No groups will be allowed to gather on or near the property.
GREELEY
Fireworks at Greeley Stampede
July 4th, 2020 approx. 9:30pm, weather dependent.
They are asking that the community watches the fireworks from a distance. The fireworks used for the show can be enjoyed up to ten miles away from the launch location near Island Grove.
To make the fireworks show experience even better, we have partnered with BIG 97.9 to sync patriotic music on the radio during the show. We are also working on finalizing a livestreaming option so you can watch the fireworks online from home. We are not having any organized activities or amenities in the park this year. If people do choose to come to Island Grove Park, we encourage you to practice social distancing between groups and follow the City of Greeley’s park rules.
Don’t forget about our Shoebox Parade that will be shown on Facebook at 9am on July 4th!
WELLINGTON
Town of Wellington’s 4th of July ‘Made in the USA!’
July 4th, 2020 @ approximately 9:10 p.m.
Instead of Boardwalk Park, this year’s fireworks display will be launched from a location situated between the Poudre River Trail to the north and New Liberty Rd. to the south and between 7th St. to the east and Colorado Blvd. to the west. This location is considered to be the highest point in town.For many, the display will likely be viewable from the comfort of their yard. For those who won’t be able to see it from their home, residents are asked to disperse into green spaces, along sidewalks and on bike paths, adhering to physical distancing guidelines. On-site viewing will not be available.
