Fashion Under the Flat Irons: In its inaugural year, Downtown Boulder’s Fashion Under the Flatirons will incorporate a runway fashion show emceed by World Cup Freestyle Ski Champion Jeremy Bloom, beauty stations, silent auction, food and drinks all featuring local Downtown Boulder businesses. | |
Boulder Creek Festival: The Boulder Creek Festival is the quintessential event in Boulder County! For over twenty years, the Boulder Creek Festival has been the unofficial kickoff to summer in Boulder. Widely considered Boulder County’s favorite event, the Boulder Creek Festival includes three days of festivities featuring a large variety of events, activities, food and entertainment unique to the Boulder community. | |
Bolder Boulder: late May, a leading running race, attracting staggering numbers of competitors, which regularly exceed more than 40,000 in total, watched by even more cheering spectators. This long-distance race is 10 km / 6 miles and ends up at the Folsom Field. | |

ArtFair: Throughout its 32 years, ArtFair has attracted artisans whose works span mediums from watercolor, acrylics, photography, and jewelry to large sculpture and works of fiber. | |
Bands on the Bricks: For ten glorious nights well-loved local bands will rock out on the 1300 block of Pearl Street for the masses. Join the 1,500+ people that swarm the bricks weekly to engage in eating, listening, dancing and general tomfoolery…all for free! | |
Rocky Mountain Tea Festival: early August at the Boulder Dushanbe Teahouse, a two-day event relating to tea-drinking throughout the world, with tea parties, a Teddy Bear picnic for children, and traders selling some very different flavors of tea, along with colorful teapots. | |
Boulder International Fringe Festival: mid-August on Pearl Street, incorporating a successful mixture of puppet shows, concerts, dancing demonstrations, story telling, movies and all kinds of different entertainment, lasting 12 days in total and always proving to be a crowd pleaser. | |
Boulder Creek Hometown Fair: late August / early September, an vent completely free of charge and held at the Boulder Public Library Lawn, on the Canyon Boulevard. Colorado Music Festival: late June to early August, staged at the Chautauqua Auditorium on Baseline Road, known for its classical music symphonies, written by leading composers of the past. | |
Colorado Shakespeare Festival: late June to mid-August, held for more than 50 years and regarded as one of North America’s most important Shakespearean festivals. Very plays are performed, a number of which take place outdoors at the acclaimed Mary Rippon Theater. | |

Fall Festival: mid-October, a leading Octoberfest with a range of events, held over a period of three days around the Pearl Street Mall. Expect to find concerts, parties, food stalls, freshly brewed Colorado beer, and fairground rides for children. | |
Boulder Backroads Marathon: mid-September, something for lovers of road racing, with no more than 750 runners in total competing during this marathon. The Rocky Mountains provide a particularly splendid backdrop, while the marathon often uses some rather rural roads and trails, starting on North 51st Street. | |
Winter | |

Switch on the Holidays: This season, Downtown Boulder will shine brighter than ever when Santa “switches” on the lights illuminating the Pearl Street Mall, county courthouse and star on Flagstaff Mountain. (This year, over 35,000 bulbs will light up Pearl Street!) Before the lights are flipped, enjoy a live performance by Face, who provide a musical experience that leaves people breathless with every moment of every song. | |
Lights of December Parade: In its 23rd year, the Lights of December Parade is a hometown celebration like no other. Enjoy over 50 local entires from area businesses, churches, nonprofits, school groups, girl scouts, boy scouts, city and county departments. | |
The Ice Rink at One Boulder Plaza: Located in the heart of downtown Boulder, just one block off the historic Pearl Street Mall at 1801 13th St., between Canyon and Walnut, visitors can enjoy outdoor ice skating and winter cheer with family and friends seven days a week including holidays. |
