Polar Bear Run & Plunge ~ Fort Collins

Let’s Get Chilly! Polar Bear 5k and 1 mile run/walk and Polar Plunge into Horsetooth Reservoir! Keep your New Year’s fitness resolutions rockin’ & rollin’ with this fun event to celebrate winter and the new year! Enjoy a beautiful and scenic run around the south end of Horsetooth Reservoir in the Fort Collins foothills. After the run either get your speedo/costume on and be one of the brave souls that takes the plunge or hang out at the outdoor party to watch the craziness. Live music, Odell Brewing beer garden, bloody Mary’s, hot food, vendors, and awards, giveaways & fun! Open to all ages, dogs welcome, choice of run only, polar plunge only or both.
Winter Wonderlights ~ Loveland

Location: Chapungu Sculpture Park at Centerra
Winter Wonderlights will take place from November 18, 2017 through January 7, 2018 at the Chapungu Sculpture Park at Centerra, just east of the Promenade Shops retail center at U.S. Highway 34 and Interstate 25.
Each night from 5-9 PM, visitors will revel in holiday string lights, twinkling bulbs, LED mappable snowflakes, illuminated African stone sculptures, the only 20’ LED mappable Christmas Tree in the state and 30-minute music and light shows. In addition to nightly lighting attractions, special weekend programming at the winter event from 5-9 PM Saturdays and 5-7 PM Sundays includes: Colorado’s largest inflatable igloo, weekend food and retail vendors, and exceptional performances sprinkled throughout the event calendar.
The event is free and open to the public. Canned food donations are suggested to benefit the Larimer County Food Bank.

57th Annual Stars of Tomorrow Show ~ Loveland

Youth from Kindergarten through 12th grade are selected to participate in this annual talent show. Students will be awarded trophies and scholarships, and one talented high school senior will be chosen to compete against winners from Wyoming, Nebraska and Colorado at the District Show held at the Rialto on May 20th. Come share the joy of watching these young people display their talent and creativity.

The Windsor Rec Center is offering full-day camp with a variety of activities such as gym and outdoor play, arts and crafts and swimming on the days Weld RE-4 school district is not in session. An itinerary will be given a couple days in advance. Please bring a lunch and two snacks. Drop off time is 7:30 – 9 a.m. and pick up will be from 4 – 5:30 p.m.

Their name is derived from the 1976 Robert Moore film of the same name.

2018 Frost Giant Race ~ Estes Park

The Annual Frost Giant will be held on Sunday, January 27th, 2018 in beautiful Estes Park, Colorado. Lace up your running shoes and grab a warm hat to partake in this fun and adventurous 5K race. The 5K will start at the Estes Park Municipal Building entrance on MacGregor Ave. The race begins on pavement as you head north on MacGregor Ave, continue north as you cross Wonderview Ave, and continue to the MacGregor Ranch property. The course then becomes cross country. Marshals will direct you east into a field as you make a loop through the field, popping back out onto MacGregor Ave. You will now head south down MacGregor Ave on the pavement and end back at the Estes Park Municipal Building entrance.
